Every student brings their own goals, and we help them find the path forward. These stories show what happens when curiosity meets the right guidance and a bit of persistence.

From Hospitality to Tech

Margot Falkenberg spent eight years managing a café in Bondi before deciding she needed a change. She'd always been interested in how search worked but never thought it was something she could actually do.

She started with our foundation modules in early 2024. The first month was rough—lots of late nights after shifts, trying to wrap her head around analytics and algorithm basics. But she kept showing up to office hours, asking questions that got more specific each week.

Current role: Junior SEO Analyst at a Sydney-based marketing consultancy

Career Pivot at 42

Brynjar Thorvaldsson had worked in retail management for nearly two decades. When his company restructured, he decided to explore something he'd been curious about for years—how businesses actually get found online.

He was honest from the start: he wasn't particularly tech-savvy. But he was methodical. He took detailed notes, redid exercises when they didn't click the first time, and gradually built up his confidence with keyword tools and analytics platforms.

Adding Skills to Freelance Work

Ailith Dunbar already ran a small freelance writing business but kept losing potential clients who wanted someone who could also handle their SEO. She was tired of referring that work out.

The technical modules challenged her, especially the parts about site structure and indexing. She paired up with another student through our community forum, and they worked through the trickier concepts together. That partnership turned out to be one of the most valuable parts of her experience.

How Tavish Built His New Career Path

Tavish Kirkpatrick joined our program in March 2024 after spending five years in customer service roles that weren't going anywhere. He wanted something that felt more strategic, where he could see direct results from his work.

  • Started with zero background in digital marketing or web analytics
  • Committed to three evenings per week for study and practice projects
  • Built his first real project analyzing search patterns for his brother's small plumbing business
  • Participated actively in peer review sessions, which he says taught him more than he expected
  • Completed the program in November 2024 after eight months of consistent work
  • Applied to twelve positions before landing interviews with three companies

Where He Is Now

Tavish started as a junior analyst at a Melbourne digital agency in January 2025. He works on client keyword research and helps with content optimization projects. The salary isn't huge yet, but it's more than he made before, and he's learning something new almost every week.

Who Guides These Journeys

Our instructors come from years of hands-on work in search optimization and analytics. They've made the mistakes, learned the hard lessons, and figured out how to explain complex concepts in ways that actually make sense.
